For Easter, people of many cultures decorate eggs. For extra credit, you may read about Easter eggs and then follow the instructions at the bottom of this page to create your own decorated geometric Easter egg!

You can construct a geometric egg, and decorate it for Easter! Here are some examples of beautifully decorated geometric Easter eggs, decorated by 9th grade geometry students. The eggs were constructed using The Geometer's Sketchpad, then copied and pasted into SuperPaint and "decorated" there.

You can construct your own geometric Easter egg using The Geometer's Sketchpad. Just follow the instructions below:

When you have finished constructing your geometric egg, you can decorate it in Geometer's Sketchpad by drawing designs and coloring polygon interiors. (Remember, to construct a polygon interior, first select all the vertices of the polygon in consecutive order, then use the Construct Menu to Construct Polygon Interior. When you are finished, your design will look much nicer if you hide all the points as described below, and send it to your TA for extra credit!
To hide all the points: Click on the Point Tool in the toolbox. Then use the Edit menu to Select Points. When all points are selected, use the Display Menu to Hide Points.
