Hello, from Deer Creek Christian Academy in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA.
Ours is a new, private multi-age school. There are only 15 students in
grades 2-6 at the present. Our school is in the home of 2 of our
classmates. All 15 of us transferred from traditional classrooms and
traditional schools, some parochial and some public.
We have 2 full time teachers, a science lab and a computer lab. We receive
French lessons once a week, and have had some interesting field trips.
This is a year round school. So far, we all like our new surroundngs and
schooling very much.
Cape Girardeau is a town of about 45,000 people which is located on the
Mississippi River roughly halfway between St.Louis and Memphis, Tenn. It
is a beautiful town, with lots of parks and hillls.
All of us in the school have different interests. Some of us take piano
lessons, play soccer and hockey. Some of us are very involved with church
activities and youth groups.
We are all very excited about this project! We haven't quite agreed on our
landmark yet, but we will select one on Monday. This will be lots of fun,
and we are looking forward to the competition as well as making new
friends.
