Dear Landmark Participants,

We are from Hobart Middle School which is located in Hobart,
Indiana. We are 6th grade students in Mrs. Hill's gifted and talented
class. Our town mascot is a Brickie. Hobart is well-known for their
football team who has won state championships in 1987, 1989, and 1991.
We got our unique nickname because Hobart was known for having many
brickyards and factories. Our football stadium is built on an old
brickyard.
There is a Lakefront in Hobart that is used for many festivities
and events. It is called Lake George. This lake is named after George
Earl, who is the founder of our town. He named the town Hobart after
his brother. Hobart is located about 50 miles from Downtown Chicago.
This makes it convenient to visit some really unique and interesting
places on the weekends!!
There are about 800 students at Hobart Middle School. The
students consists of 6th, 7th , and 8th grade students. Long ago it
used to be a Elementary, Middle and High School at one time. This shows
you how much Hobart has grown. We now have 4 elementary schools, 1
middle school, and a high school.
We are looking forward to this challenge and getting to know our
competing schools! We would like to wish all participant luck in the
Landmark Game!!

Sincerely,
The 6th grade G/T students of Hobart Middle School
