Hi, we are 4th graders from Gretna, Nebraska. We all attend Gretna
Elementary, a.k.a. the Dragons. There is one elementary, one middle school
and one high school in Gretna, but we continue to grow and grow!! Right now,
there are 4 to 5 sections of each grade level. The population of our small
community is about 2,250 right now. Gretna is about 35 miles from Lincoln
and 20 miles from Omaha (we are almost in between the two.) During June,
the town celebrates wtih Gretna Days. It is really fun! A fundraiser that
the elementary does each year to raise money for the school is a Jog-a-thon.
The students collect money from sponsers who pay them an amount for each lap
around the track that they complete. This year the Jog-a-Thon was so
successful that we bought new playground equipment. It is so cool! Our
football team was ranked number 2 this year. The games are a great way to
spend a weekend night!

We are rookies to this project, but are so excited to get started! Have
fun! We know we will!
