PoW Pricing Guide

The Math Forum @ Drexel is an online learning community that enables teachers, students, mathematicians, researchers, and supporters to all learn from each other and create programs and resources that improve mathematics education. This effort is funded in part by Drexel University as a public service and a small, dedicated staff who brings in grants and donations. A critical portion of the funding must come from the broad community of users who benefit and we invite you to become a member.

A membership is now required in order to access the Current Problems (Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and Math Fundamentals). Student submissions and use of the Active Problem Library are enabled through Class or other institutional memberships. Those who became members prior to this changeover will retain their previous level of access until September 1, 2006.

Institutional Memberships (Classrooms, Schools, Districts, Colleges): The Math Forum Problems of the Week Library

All Institutional Memberships include:
  • unrestricted access for students to use and submit to the Current Problems (Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and Math Fundamentals)
  • use of either the Elementary or Secondary Problem Library (each features more than 400 problems)
  • an account to monitor student submissions
  • access to problem-specific teaching support materials
  • option for teachers to mentor their own students' submissions using our software and supporting materials
  • additional mentoring options (see below), with teacher control over which support students receive
  • General Membership (supports The Math Forum website)

Individual Class memberships include online professional development, access to the Current Problems of the Week and your choice of either the Elementary or Secondary Problems Library, plus the option to purchase mentoring (see below).

Building or School memberships include online professional development, 1-2 hours onsite training, access to the Current Problems of the Week and a choice of either the Elementary or Secondary Problems Library, plus dedicated feedback from three to five mentors designated by the client and educated by The Math Forum. Mentoring provided by Math Forum staff may also be purchased as described below.

District memberships include online professional development and a full day of on-site professional development. You also get the Current Problems of the Week and your choice of either the Elementary or Secondary level Problems Library plus dedicated feedback from mentors designated by the client and educated by The Math Forum. Mentoring provided by Math Forum staff may also be purchased as described below.

Mentoring Options: We offer Priority Mentoring at prices commensurate with the number of students involved and the level of membership purchased. Priority mentoring is provided by Math Forum staff, or from individuals designated by our institutional members who have undergone our certification.

Several times a year we have groups of pre-service teachers and volunteers who are able to respond to some of the student submissions to the Current Problems of the Week at no cost. Students must select Free Mentoring when submitting their solutions in order to be eligible.

Teachers with Class memberships or higher have the option of mentoring their own students' work or having The Math Forum prepare locally recruited mentors.
