Review based on: As an assignment in an education class, in order to familiarize myself with MathTools, I was asked to select and rate a tool. I chose this tool because many of the students I work with in my job as a math tutor often have difficulty with the math skill of rounding. |
Appropriate for: introduction to a concept, practice of skills and understandings |
Other Comments: The concept is presented in a clear and concise way. I also like that students are given a chance to practice the skill at the end of the instruction. This would be a valuable tool to use in the classroom or home for instruction and/or reinforcement. |
What math does one need to know to use the resource? place value to the millions place |
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource? Keyboard use |
What extra things must be done to make it work? It requires a lot of reading, which some users may not like. The fact that you can skip to the practice activity, which is very clearly explained, minimizes the need to read. |
How hard was it for you to learn? Very Easy |
Explanation: It was clear, quick, and to the point! |
Ability to meet my goals: Very Effective |
Recommended for: Math 3: Number sense Math 4: Number sense Math 5: Number sense Math 6: Number sense |
Tool: Estimating and Rounding Decimals Review
