Activity: Developing Problem-Solving Skills with the TI-15
Go to: http://education.ti.com/.../activitybook_15_skills.html (opens a new window)
Description:

The activities in this book are designed for students to use the calculator as a problem-solving tool. In order for students to increase their problem-solving skills, the teacher needs to let them work as independently as possible. Not all students or teachers are comfortable with this type of approach. However, it is my belief that given the opportunity, students will solve rigorous problems on their own.

In order for the students to be successful, they need a level of understanding of the mathematics involved in the problem, problem-solving strategies and techniques, and the use of the calculator as a problem-solving tool. To help you help your students, the lessons are set up to provide the kinds of support students will need. The activity book is available for purchase or each activity can be downloaded free in PDF format.
