************************************* MathMagic Cycle 11: Level 4-6 Regular ************************************* Although adding one digit numbers may seem like child's play, you may have to think again when solving this addition challenge: M A T H 1) If each letter stands for a number ( 0 to 9 ), how many different arrangements can you make that correctly add + M A G I C up? ----------- I S F U N 2) If all vowels are odd and 5/8 of the consonants are even (zero is considered even here), how many arrangements are possible? ************************************** MathMagic Cycle 11: Level 4-6 Advanced ************************************** I received a magazine that accidentally hadn't been stapled, and when I took it out of the envelope, out came pages 6 and 19 as a double sheet. Since some friends were laughing at my magazine, I told them I was able to predict not only what other pages were on the sheet I had in my hand, but exactly how many pages the magazine had. What did I have to do to in order to be correct? By working several different pages, can you develop a way of telling regardless of the number of pages? ================== Good luck
