This is an abstract of a presentation at The 8th International Congress on Math Education (ICME 8), July 14-21, 1996 in Seville, Spain.

REPERES is a multidisciplinary project whose objective is the conception and the realisation of a learning environment meant to assist mathematics students at the secondary level work on linear equations simultaneously in the algebraic and graphic forms. We propose a computer model to dynamically manage interactions between students and computer. We have defined two levels of interaction: a surface level (correspoding to the software interface with the student) and a high level (corresponding to student ' s action to slove the problem). This model uses software events (high level) to reify the students' actions. In this scope, we have studdied the effective element witch are important to manage interaction. We actually try to defined temporal software event to take care of the time in our management of the interaction.Xavier Dubourg, dubourg@lium.univ-lemans.fr
