Games in the Classroom:
Exploring Probability in Multicultural and Common Games

Probability and Games. This presentation will cover the applications of probability as applied to multicultural games. This unit focuses on NCTM Standard 11 and the understanding of fair and unfair games. Activities in this unit incorporate writing, authentic assessment, and multicultural activities to teach the essential concepts of probability. This unit was developed by Anna Garfinkel, Sue Cottine and Uiraj Ward as part of the Authentic Assessment Leadership Institute funded by the Urban Math League.
