FAMILY MATH:
Activities for Early Childlhood

FAMILY MATH fosters a partnership between teachers and parents to develop an environment where families have fun doing Mathematics. This international program was developed by EQUALS, at Lawrence Hall of Science, and it is a proven way to effect children's and families' attitudes and appreciation of mathematics. FAMILY MATH was designed to bring more girls and minority students into mathematical careers; it is effective for all people in all communities. Joint presenters - - one leader in early childhood education, and one mathematics education faculty - - will have new hands-on early childhood activities as well as ideas on implementation and management of Early Childhood FAMILY MATH. Attendees will also be invited to participate in an international e-mail FAMILY MATH newsletter.
