1 + 1 > 2: Using Cooperative Learning to Achieve Greater Results

This basic workshop will focus on ways to use cooperative learning in a middle school classroom. The workshop will model various strategies for establishing and maintaining a cooperative learning classroom. Techniques for using cooperative learning to help establish a classroom based on equity for all (race, gender, national origin, LEP, etc.) will be explored. Actual materials and lesson plans will be distributed. This workshop will model a cooperative based classroom using cooperative problem solving and concrete models.
