| A lesson for grades 3-5 designed to teach students to identify data on the horizontal (x) axis and vertical (y) axis; read numbered pounds on a weight scale; estimate pounds upon sight before being given a known weight; identify actual weight; understand the importance of controlling body weight; observe fat, calorie, sugar and sodium intake of certain foods compared with the daily recommended allowances; discover and apply rules of computations for determining how much weight to gain, lose or retain; and design their own data chart.
