| "Families Achieving the New Standards" in Math, Science and Technology Education is a parent outreach project, with the goals of informing parents about the New Jersey standards in mathematics, science, and technology; involving parents in helping their children reach the standards; and encouraging parents to support the local implementation of the standards. Parents attend an hour-and-a-half workshop on the standards, view a 35-minute videotape, and do hands-on activities similar to those that their children will be doing in their classrooms. Booklets (The FANS Family Kit) and recommended resources are available from the site. See also the Guide for New Jersey Parents. | |
