Description: A group for promoting basic research in orthogonal polynomials and special functions; furthering the application of this subject in other parts of mathematics and in science and industry; and encouraging and supporting the exchange of information, ideas, and techniques between workers in this field and other mathematicians and scientists. Members organize symposia, usually at the Annual Meetings of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and publish a Newsletter three times a year and an electronic newsletter, OP-SF NET.
