Barrel VolumeDate: 9/8/96 at 14:13:51 From: Anonymous Subject: Barrel Volume How many gallons are in a barrel? Date: 9/16/96 at 16:2:21 From: Doctor Ana Subject: Re: Barrel Volume Be careful, because there are many different sizes of barrels out there! According to the New York Public Library Desk Reference, a standard barrel (in the United States) is 31.5 gallons. A barrel of oil is 42 gallons. Just because something is stored in a barrel, though, doesn't say anything about how big the barrel is. -Doctor Ana, The Math Forum Check out our web site! http://mathforum.org/dr.math/ |
