> My name is Vikki Saccaro and I am a chairperson at William Floyd
School District on Long Island in NY. I am looking to add AP
Statistics to our course offerrings for the 2010-2011 school year. I
was wondering what textbook is commonly used for the course and who
the publishing company is? In addition, which computer software is
the best to use with this course? Thank you for your time and input
in regards to this matter!!

Vikki, there are four standard texts and four or more people will tell
you what they are;-) At

http://statland.org/temp/Software_for_AP_Statistics.html

you can find this college and industry guy's general suggestions on
software. (A couple of gurus from high schools provieded input on
this, but don't blame them;-) I am glad you know about this well in
advance because often the cheapest way to get software is to buy it
bundled with your textbook. After you order the books, that avenue
will be clsoed;-(

HOWEVER, I suggest you concentrate on course content and the graphing
calculators (your students will actually be able to use on the exam) the
first time you teach the course. There are many different things you
can do with software and many different software products to do those
things, but it can be difficult to make an informed choice until you
have actually taught the course and developed your own wish list.
