This type of carpet is called a dragon rug because of the stylized dragons
seen in the central field. Dragons and palmettes are set among pairs of
stylized serrated leaves. The leaves appear to overlap one another forming a
two-tiered ogival lattice that gives an effect of three-dimensional depth.
In the borders, two design elements are combined to form a border pattern
with reflection and glide reflection.
