This carpet makes a bold statement with vibrant red, green, and yellow wool. The large graphic design of a star octagon is symmetrical, with horizontal and vertical reflection. This design is repeated to form a field pattern using glide reflection.

Notice the tiny motif repeated in the angular shape that emphasizes the oblique grid. You may recognize a similar motif in each of the next two rug images, which show different field patterns.

Here, the middle border shows reflection and glide reflection with some color variation; the inner and outer borders show only translation because of the illusion of overlapping shapes.
