Directions for using the Fish simulation applet

General simulation directions:

• To start using the Applet click the button.
• To stop using the Applet click the button.
• Reset the simulation back to its original state by clicking the button.

Fish simulation specifics:

• The yellow fish are female and the reddish fish are male. Click and drag a fish to move it into a pond, then watch it swim! (Be careful to click directly on the fish and release it only in the pond. If you drag something else or release a fish outside the pond, this simulation may not work properly. If you encounter problems, just click the Reset button.) You can also move fish from one pond to another pond.
• The pie chart to the right of each pond displays the ratio of male fish to female fish in that pond. This may help you reach your goal.
• When each pond has the proper ratio AND all fish are out of the large tank, the tank border turns from red to green. That means you have found a correct solution!
