Maximum Possible Combinations

Hello,

I wonder if you can tell me how can I calculate the following:

...Which is the maximal number of possibilities that I can obtain for 
n = digit?  - like having a phone number with 9 digits.  How many 
users could I theoretically cover?

Hi there!  If you have a 9 digit phone number with any digit from 
0-9 in each of the 9 places, you multiply 

10 digits * 10 digits * 10 digits * 10 digits * 10 digits * 10 digits *
10 digits * 10 digits * 10 digits

Since each of 9 times you have 10 choices for the number.
